Who may use this library

The current primary intended users of the library are collegiate Christian a cappella groups, and, for now, only such groups may request arrangements from the library.

But the rest of the library is open for everyone to use; you'll find that there's quite a bit of other useful stuff, too (and you'll find that what's here grows rapidly). Please take a look at the summary of what's offered here in the library... you'll be glad you did.

What is offered here

The main thing offered here is a resource for obtaining Christian a cappella arrangements, but there are a few other (growing) services here, too.

Catalog section
The list of songs that are in the arrangement library. Obviously useful in looking over songs for request, but also handy as a general resource of what various popular Christian songs are like and as an indicator of what arrangements the library doesn't have (and, consequently, needs you to send in!)
Arranging section
New arrangements come into existence only if someone makes the effort to create them; this section looks to support arrangers in their work, to build folks' arranging skills, and to encourage potential arrangers to give it a try. Check out this section for a growing collection of helpful articles, a lot of ideas about songs that would make good arrangements, and a list of folks who're willing to do some arranging for groups.
Copyright section
Anyone who has arranged or written music recently has probably worried a bit about copyright issues, and anyone who has dug into music copyright law has probably found it often confusing and occasionally impenetrable. This section "cuts to the chase", explaining our best understanding of copyright issues as they affect collegiate Christian a cappella groups and outlining the steps you need to take to deal with your copyright situation.
Other arrangement resources section
[Choir directors note!] A list of simple pointers to collections of publicly available Christian a cappella arrangements, such as stuff by the groups Glad and Acapella. These arrangements generally are available in a songbook, are very easy for you to obtain, and are very popular (the majority of requests the library currently gets are for such songs).

Operating principles of the library

The operating principles of the library are that it will

  1. collect and distribute Christian a cappella sheet music and
  2. promote the creation of new Christian a cappella arrangements

by methods which are useful to its users and which comply fully with all applicable copyright laws.

How to Use the Library

Requesting arrangements

Sorry, the mechanics for this are under review.

Submitting arrangements

There are some arrangements in the library right now,but we need more of them, especially the really good ones.

We need people from all the various Christian a cappella groups (or whoever's interested, really) to find and submit suitable arrangements to the arrangement library.

"Submission" basically means that the library will get (probably from you) a couple of archival copies of the arrangment (you can get reimbursed for any photocopier costs).

Sorry, we cannot take any submissions at the moment.
